Complete uninstall of IMVU.
1. Uninstall IMVU from your add and remove programs in control panel.
2. Open My Computer. Navigate to the top: Tools - Folder Options and click the view tab. Click the circle next to: Show hidden files and folders. Click apply and ok.
3. Navigate to: C:Program Files. Delete the IMVU folder if there is one.
4. Click back.
5. Navigate to: C:Documents and SettingsYOUR USER NAMEApplication Data. Delete the IMVU folder if there is one.
6. Close everything to your desktop and empty the recycle bin.
7. Reboot your computer.
8. Reinstall a clean copy of IMVU.
If there is still a problem follow these steps to manually remove any other IMVU files.
(Repeat first section before starting)
1. Navigate to: Start - Search.
2. Select: All Files and Folders.
3. In: All or part of the file name: type IMVU.
4. Click search.
5. If any files are detected delete them.
6. Close to desktop and empty recycle bin.
7. Reboot your computer.
8. Reinstall a clean copy of IMVU.
Final step if that does not work. (PLEASE USE CAUTION IF YOU FOLLOW THIS STEP - FOR ADVANCED USERS)

It is a good idea to create a fresh restore point before you do this. Navigate to: Start – All Programs – Accessories – System Tools – System Restore to do this.
(Repeat first section before starting)
1. Navigate to: Start – Run.
2. In the open box type: regedit.
3. Navigate to the Edit Menu and select Find.
4. In the: Find what box type: imvu or IMVU either way.
5. Click – Find Next.
6. If the search finds any files DO NOT click anything.
7. If it found a file simply push Delete on your keyboard then enter for yes.
8. DO NOT move the mouse. Simply push F3 on your keyboard to search for the next file.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until there are no more files found.
10. After there are no more files to delete simply close the window.
11. Reboot your computer.
12. Reinstall a clean copy of IMVU.
